Six weeks ago yesterday, my more-than-amazing step-mom passed away. She was truly the best of Gramma’s. The kids LOVED her. Even though she worked as a hospice nurse, Alice made time to watch the girls every Wednesday. They went to storytime at the library, were regulars at the zoo, played at the park, read books, dug in the dirt together… the whole nine yards. Alice was so active with the girls, and taught them to LIVE. And to love Jesus, and each other. And we all miss her dearly.
I am so, so grateful that when her cancer returned for the second time, we gathered her and the girls to capture their relationship. I didn’t want anything posed. I wanted them doing what they do. And that’s what we got — Alice investing in her granddaughters lives. I am forever thankful that Lexi and Luna have these images to look back on, to help them remember just how wonderful she was to them.
So here’s my plea to you: don’t wait until it’s too late. We all think there is going to be more time, but it goes by in a heartbeat. You don’t have to come here to Memories, but do have your kid’s special relationships photographed. Because when they’re gone, your photos and your memories are all you have left. We would be most honored to help you create a session to document those who matter most to you. And I can tell you personally, that right now, these images mean the world to me.
