Merry Christmas To All, and To All A Goodnight!

I’d like to start out by saying Thank You to all of you wonderful clients who made 2009 such a banner year. I know I sound like a broken record when I say this, but I am so grateful to have a career that I love so much. Thank you to all of you who continue to allow me to be a part of your family year after year, and for that, I am truly humbled…

I would also like to thank my home girls Heather and Michelle (and you too, Kandice!), for without them I don’t know how I would have survived!

2009 has not only been a successful business year for Memories, but also a year full of new ideas, new products, new marketing and new faces. I can’t wait to show you what we have in store for 2010!

And with peace and joy, I wish this to you all:
Whatever is beautiful,
whatever is meaningful,
whatever brings you happiness…
May it be yours this Holiday Season
and throughout the Coming Year!

oops, almost forgot to mention that we will be closed Wednesday, December 23 – Monday, January 4. We will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, January 5th. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It’s Not Over…

…till the fat lady sings, and I have a terrible voice. LOL, I crack myself up! For all of you procrastinators out there (and you know who you are!), we are offering a December Special. Book any session for December and receive a complimentary 5×7 as well as a few other holiday goodies. Be sure to call soon for available session dates and times. Remember, we can turn an order around, including Christmas cards, within a week to ten days.

I met this little fellow, Paxton, at Tinsel and Treasure last month and he came in today to start his Baby’s First Year Program. Doesn’t he make a cute Santa’s Helper?!

Full Fall Swing

I’m sure you’ve all thought I fell off the face of the blogging world, but here I am alive and kicking. We are having a great fall season which by no means is over yet! I had hoped to do some individual blogging for each family but it’s been way too crazy around here for that, lol (which, by the way, I’m not complaining ;-) ) Both Heather and I have been swamped with post-production on sessions, but thought I’d stop to share some recent favorites.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

ok, I know we didn’t have any lions, tigers or bears for our Halloween Humane Society Fundraiser, but nonetheless we had many adorable costumes.  We all had a blast with our trick-or-treaters and Michelle did great capturing these little cuties!  We were so proud of our customer contributions that Memories matched donations for a total of $600 going to the Knox County Humane Society, which holds a special place in my heart.  My three dogs — Zoe, the court jester, Leo, the firefighter, & Magpie, the bumblebee  — were all rescue animals as well as our newest additions, Frodo and Finnigan, our two feisty pirates, arrrrgh!  What a fun way to celebrate Halloween, Boo-Ya!

These Girls Rock!

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love what these girls are wearing! Mom looks so fashionable, and her girls were darling. My camera just loved their faces and adorable personalities! The precious hats are an original from Magpie, who is a local Knoxville mom. You may have seen her at her booth for Tinsel & Treasure, she’s great! These girls were so much fun for their Matilda Jane Mini Session. Great job, girls!

Meet Keylon

This little guys was full of smiles for his first session at Memories. This family came in for some fun outdoor images and I was happy to oblige! Keylon was a total cutie at 10 months, and mom and gramma could be sisters. :-)

Costume Mini Sessions

ok, so we’re a little late with this announcement… but we’ve been more than swamped to say the least, lol. We’ve actually had this in the works for a bit and been promoting it here in the studio… just not so much advertising. whoops!

The Halloween costumes out there are much too cute to only take a photo in the dark of night on Halloween, so come in for a Costume Mini Session and get a great photo of your cutie dressed up as a ladybug, ballerina, ghost or goblin or whatever you’ve come up with this year. ;-) We promise, this will be a short and sweet studio session of your kiddos in their Halloween garb. We’re looking forward to a fantastically fun day, and all supporting a great cause (100% of the proceeds go to Knox County Humane Society)! So, call the studio to get on the schedule for this Saturday, October 31.

**edited to add — want to clarify on the big question of the day… There are NO Session Fees for the Costume Mini Session and 5×7′s are only $10. This all goes to charity, and is our way introducing Michelle to the Memories team! Give us a call as soon as you can at 357-5800, slots are quickly filling up!

Working Away…

Hey guys, it’s been awhile, ay? Well, the flu kept me out for over a week and this week has been all about Tinsel & Treasure… and tomorrow both Nancy and I will be working it, so the studio will be closed. But I wanted to give a little peek at some of the sessions that I’ve been working on. Just a few of my faves from Autumn in the Old City… there are still several sessions from that day that are still on my To Do List, but I do want to say that they all look great guys! Promise we’ll get back on the blogging track next week, everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Among Other Things…

HOLY. COW.

That pretty much sums us up right now.

hmm… where to begin…  Well, we’ve been busy.  Which is great. Really, we’re not complaining.  Then, we decided to splurge and get a couple of new computers (and they are gorgeous!).  Woohooo!  Then, one very important computer bit the dust the night before all backups and switching were to take place.  Not so great.  Now we’re having a heck of a time with some of our processes (credit cards to name one).  Just when we’re almost completely restored, I get a phone call that my daughter has a fever of 102.  The next day, I take her to the pediatrician and she is diagnosed with the flu.  They’re pretty sure it’s H1N1 but not positive.  Poor thing has been miserable since Thursday and doesn’t look any better now.  And now I have it… I think.  I actually feel fine but I do have a fever.  So, I’m not coming back into the studio until the fever is gone for over 24 hours (don’t worry, I haven’t even been in at all since last Thursday).

Did you get all that?  Yeah, so now you know why I say HOLY. COW.

Thankfully, my non-infected husband went into the studio a couple of nights ago and picked up a bunch of stuff for me, so now I’m working from home.  Proofing newborns out my yin-yang, and loving all of these so very much.  I’m also working on a surprise.  Some of you know about it…  Hopefully, if all goes well, we should be ready for the big announcement in time for Tinsel and TreasureThis is something we are very excited about.  Maybe this is why I don’t feel so bad, having the swine flu and all… it’s that good.

I’ll leave you with one of my faves from yesterdays editing.  This new mom and dad were completely convinced that they left with nothing at all.  See Megan, we told you we got it (plus, oh, about 19 other equally fabulous images of your little guy!)

And, I’d like to thank all of our clients for being completely wonderful while we are a bit overwhelmed. We’ll be back to normal soon… I hope!

Fall Fun

Little Kaleb is getting so big and turning into quite the little ham.   It was a beautiful day out, so in addition to his studio session we decided to pop out for some great outdoor images.   It was so nice to see his mom and grandma. :-)
